San Antonio, Texas "Blue Bunny" Rally May 20--May 23, 2009

Oh.... but I think we should definetly do a dinner together .... I liked the way Cadillac Tech & Photo Girl set up the one in BG at WahBah's .... there was a headcount just prior and then reservations made .... PYOB (pay your own bill) .... We had a great dinner, don't you think? And the unscheduled ice cream stop was fun too .... just another chance to race around town! :D There is a Hacienda there that I have been  over .... it is famous for it's "puffy tacos" and Margarita's .... how does that sound???
Other thoughts??? :blinzel:

Sounds good to me, too!

Was there an itenerary posted somewhere that I missed? Maybe someone could send me more info at Sales@windrestrictor.com ? Or a link would be greatly appreciated.

I may be driving an X down, but if not you guys will have to put up with the Sky roadster tagging along with you :dunno:...

May 20-23. The Hilton will be the main meeting spot and we have discounted rates there. You may have to call directly to get the lower rate for days in advance or after. Sounds like some of the group are staying at htoels away from the Riverwalk So you have multiple choices. Hope to see you there.

The Hampton Inn-Downtown San Antonio. Thanks to Cubby we get a special rate and special parking. The phone # 210-225-8500 or www.sanantoniodowntown.hamptoninn.com. Mention the XLR group when calling or type in XLR for the Group/Convention Code if making reservations online.

We will be arriving on Thursday May 21 and checking out on Sunday May 24.

Here's the other hotel option. Hope to see you in San Antonio...no matter what you're driving!

Kathy

I don't think anyone is trying to out do your work in getting a hotel near the RIVerwalk but there's a few of us that would like to see our dollars go as far as possible. It's bad enough that are houses are upside down, we don't need to be upside down too.
We will be very close to the Hilton & the RIVerwalk and will just have to trudge on over for any events planned at the initial hotel that Kent and Professor made accomadations at.

Hampton Inn is a good second choice and not far away at all. I just suspect I may have a cocktail or two :rocker: and want to be right on the Riverwalk. I think you can buy a three day pass for the river taxi for $25 which will get you over to Hooters which is a bit closer to your the Hampton iNN. :bash: I THINK I JUST FIGURED OUT WHY YOU WANT THE HAMPTON

I also made my reservation for the 21st through Saturday, leaving Sunday the 24th at the Hampton Inn. I finally get a diamond lane buddy, my daughter will be joining me.
Ruthie, it seems we need one more reservation between the west coast and SA. Do we know where we are going to stop yet. Kent should have a good idea for this too. The waitress bandit:reddevil

Hey Bob, I think the rest of us west coasters are planning on Las Cruces on the 19th and arrive in San Antonio on the 20th.

Another XLR in the Midwest caravan

I just received an email from Jim and Fran Hill of Crown Point,In and they have made their reservations at the Hampton Inn. They are planning on joining the Midwest caravan to SA. Jim and Fran were at RIII with their '04 XLR. It will be great to see them again.

Bruce

I guess I'll keep the bears out of your britches and the wheels between the ditches because I can't leave that early, at least I'll have my daughter to talk to and won't have to keep calling the lead car :bash:to slow down until I can catch up after making a wrong turn. We have to stop at every Cracker Barrel anyway. It's Annual Cracker Barrel month in May, two for one.

Knowing you I thought you might catch up with us even with a one day lead time. :willy_nilly: Then the Cracker Barrel concept sunk in and I knew you would be arriving a day after us. I know how you love your Cracker Barrel. We will warn the waitresses

Things are fluid, plans may change by May.

Looking forward to having Jim & Fran in our caravan next spring!

Well - it's time to get this thread moving again, Now that the holidays are almost behind us.

The time will fly now that we will be able to make some definite plans ....

Personally, I am so glad that we have a nice long road trip to look forward to .... and then when we get there we have such a great friends to :party with!

I have been looking at San Antonio websites.... so much to choose to do!

If anyone has the list from R3, we should check it to make sure that everyone has been contacted from the old forum to be checking over here for details on this one ....
