Red XLR in Sarasota, Florida

Sometime in early afternoon on Monday (Labor Day) while returning home from my Son's wedding in Sarasota spotted a red XLR traveling west on University Parkway. Always brings a smile........

Congratulations on your son's wedding! (I'm assuming it wasn't tacos at the rehearsal dinner.)
So post a picture of the family. I wanna see you all dressed up
Any pics of the bride and groom in a white XLR?

Saw a red one coming into Deadwood, SD a couple weeks ago on August 25. Was going to turn around a chase it down, but wasn't in mine, so decided not to.

It was sad to see such a fine car on a used car lot.

I have noticed around here that anytime I see an XLR on a car lot, it doesn't stick around for long!

I've also been tracking prices on used XLRs. I can tell you that very low mileage XLRs are selling for more now than they were three years ago.

Saw one last Friday in Fairfield, Ca. Was in my V...guy never saw me 'cus of a carmax insert in place of the plate...must have just bought it.

I must say that the thing I noticed most was not the car, but the guy's big grin...truly, the XLR is a hoot to drive!

Sunday's Spotting

Yesterday, my daughter and I went for a walk along the Welland Ship Canal. To be different, we went to the small village of Port Robinson, Ontario (a part of Thorold). There, parked beside the village Post Office, was a black XLR-V. I am not sure the year, but it was not a 2009.

Unfortunately, I had my other car and never did see the owner. It was a surprise to see it in this small village beside the canal.

I know there were not a lot of XLR's made, but there sure seem to be a fair number in this part of Niagara. Now, if I can just get in contact with them.

I thought we would be the only XLR there!!!
While Wendy & I was in Ocean City Md. for Endless Summer Car Event last week from Thursday to Sunday we spotted up in front of us this Silver XLR-V Saturday night while out Cruzin around. I managed to get up beside him and wave at each other. (Don't know if he's on the forum here or not) Had a great day Sat. in a little town called Berlin they closed down the main streets and parked all the show cars on the streets and some parking lot areas! We got there a little late and they just parked the last car so we did not get Roxy in the show. We had great weather in the high 70's until Sunday when it rained most of the morning and turned much cooler! We drove back home on Monday and the high temp was 58 degrees for the day! Just glad it was nice Thursday - Saturday night!! :rocker:

Dan & Wendy

I have a 2006 infrared with at the time I bought it had 20758 miles. View attachment 2348my mom called me at home and said that I better get down to premier cadillac in st aug Florida. The sales guy said it wouldn't last at this price. He was right. It now sits n my driveway and garage.

If I see another xlr I would definitely wave or nod.

I saw my "one a year" XLR today. I was at a casino in West Virginia and there was a red one in the parking lot! I need to take some "XLR-NET.COM" calling cards with me to put under the windshield wiper!

Good Idea

Over the Labor Day weekend we spotted a Light Platinum '06 XLR on a used car lot a few miles from our house. I recognized the car, it was sold new from Lockhart Cadillac. I used to work on it when it was under warranty. It was sad to see such a fine car on a used car lot.

Today when I was out and about. I saw many convertibles. Some were topless while others had their "heads" on. I even glanced over and saw a gold xlr. When I pointed it out to mom she said did it have its top down. I said no. She said they should have been topless. There were many convertibles out and about. Half had their tops off. There were a range of convertibles from the old g6 Pontiac to the small Mercedes. To the Toyota to BMW and Audi.

You also have a possibility of a tropical storm coming up the coast next week.

Saw one last nite

Just returned home from Cork Tree restaraunt, when driving out of the parking lot I saw a Silver 2009 parked at Morton's Steakhouse in the valet area. I am relatively new at identifying XLRs by year but, this one had the side vents so, Ithink it is an `09. The snowbirds are back so maybe I'll be seeing more XLRs.:wave:

Yup, the snowbirds are here: 'cause we are part of that 'flock'! Just arrived in North Port Thursday night!

Anyway I did this for some friends who wanted to know: I forgot to add the front valance pictures and the obvious different front driving lights etc. I added another picture I had done.

I have seen a number of car that the owners have added the side vents but the rear valance is bloody costly to change over so it usually is a dead giveaway if someone has added the side vents.
how to tell an 09.jpg Comparison 1 front.jpg

I love the rear fascia and exhaust tips of the 09', this is one of the things I would like to switch out on my 06'. I would like to switch out the front fascia and hood to the XLR V and add the 09' rear bumper and exhaust tips.

Thanx Sandy,
For the tutorial but, why does the `08 Crystal Red Metalic look different than the `09. From what I understand Cadillac only did three colors of red; Crimson Red in `04 & `05, Infrared in `06 & `07, and Crystal Red Metalic in `08 & `09. The colors in your photo do not look the same.
