MM's Off and Running!

Paula and I saw the MM's safely off from Effingham. I'll post the pictures later but it was a bittersweet meeting, We wished that we were going too.

We sent a little care package off with everyone to take the edge off between the stops and a cold bottle of water. Rich, B&K have yours.

Drive safe and enjoy,

Bob

I'm in the same boat. Haven't packed and decided not to wash the car. Saving the bugs for San Antonio

I do have a variety of Rendevous shirts I guess I should pack. Hope I still fit in the ones from Rendevous I

Meeting in Effingham

Here are some pictures from the gathering in Effingham. Everyone got a travel bag full of goodies in preparation for the long road ahead. It was tough to see the group off without us. Next year.....

Hi .... Hope you guys can READ this, because I couldn't HEAR you at all ... either time ... first because I am in a casino .... and, hey ... it's a really nice one in Tucson ... had a crab feast for dinner and both of us came up to our rooms winners ... (not much, but it paid the hotel bill!) .... All I could hear was the MM's partying ... and Rich sounded like he was trying to be sober ...

We are meeting Kent and Bob/Jaime in the morning and will meet the rest of our caravan tomorrow night in Las Cruces .... we had a great drive over ... the highest temp we had was 111 .... "dry" heat ... very nice. This casino hotel is new and really nice .... This is a perfect start ... will see you all shortly ... Glad to hear that you are having fun ... make sure someone keeps an eye on Marion ...:squint: lol

I'm heading out tomorrow morning and should be there about 1 or 2pm. If you all see me wondering around dazed and confused please stop and provide assistance. :chuckle

I've never met any of you but am looking forward to it!
photo of me below incase somehow I miss all 30 XLRs and cant seem to locate anyone. I'm coming alone!:dunno:

We will be checking in tomorrow afternoon at the Hilton Inn. Just ask at the desk where the party is for "PTU" group (XLR's). See you at 7pm.

We are now in Lafayette, LA with Bob & Gayle Walker; Dave and Ann Ferrucci and myself (professor) and my wife Pat. Already had a great dinner. (Got lost in Lafayette) but eventually found a great restaurant and having a good time with nice people.

Henry / Professor:)

We are now in Las Cruces ... and I'm telling you all that aren't either in SA, LC or on your way .... you are missing IT, This is so much fun ... every group from everywhere is having the best time .... I just heard from the MM's .... I told you guys you HAVE to keep your eye on Marion! But ... hmmm... lol... I did not know to warn you about Karen ( you GO girl!)... I would post pictures, but I forgot my camera in my room, and besides I can't hold a camera and the wine cup (paper) at the same time! Okay ... the pool police came out and has sent us to our rooms :bash: and, anyway, they are making me get up and be in the parking lot at 7:sleeping: .. so .. I'll see most of you tomorrow ....:grouphug:

Party is at Suite 2118 Hilton Inn at 7pm tonight

We are having a BLAST!!!! SA is an awesome city. :rocker: Great friends. Went to CC today and saw the USS Lexington. Headed out to the Riverwalk again tonight.

It's been a great time with all our friends here in SA. Sorry to see the time to head back is fast approaching. So many things to do and see and so many pictures taken, it will have to wait until our return home for posting.

For anyone who missed out; you missed a great one. When the pictures are posted they will only tell half the story!! Keep watch for the other upcoming events--and join us in the future for a great time!!!!;);)

Well, y'all .... this is always the hardest part :bawling:... and I knew it would be ... 'have to say so long .... can't wait to see you all again :grouphug:.... We have some really wonderful memories - Thanks Henry for choosing San Antonio, it is everything you said it was ... we LOVE the River Walk. Thanks to all of you for everything - what great hosts all of you were. Great ambassadors from every state ... again meeting new faces and putting names to them ... I am excited to see what pictures will be posted .... there was some really crazy moments .... (MM's!) :buttslap: You guys really know how to :party....
Soon we will have to start planning an RV ..... see how fast the time went ... from months of planning to a moment in time.

You all drive safe and take care of YOU for ME.

Made it home in 14 hours flat including shopping for fireworks (had to finally put the top up to fit them all) and a car wash a few blocks from home.

Thanks to everyone who organized events (and the car wash guy, good choice) and especially the Professor for getting this started. Had a great time. Good to see old friends and meet new ones. Now I'm going to bust out the wine that has been sitting on the cooled passenger seat all day:blinzel:

Ruth Ann, Ray and Standy, Watch out for Highway Patrol in AZ, they are heavy this weekend.

Like always, I'm not sure when we will get home ....! We didn't go to Houston because the weather looked so icky that way ... we ended up back in Las Cruces ... now I just sorta wanta go home and see my grandbabe and doggie .... but, heck ... we will have to pass a dozen casinos to do that!

Who know? Just glad I'm busy texting a couple of bored navigators like me .... :squint:

Thanks for the warning Kent .... I will tell Ray. We have been traveling just about 3 miles over the posted 80 MPH. We saw a single car rollover in TX .... not good. Weather's been great .... traffic light - Hope it is today too!

xxoo

Well, almost all of us made it home to Corrales, the only one missing is "BLUE BUNNY" who got towed to our dealer around 12 today. Believe it or not you can make it from Truth or Consequences, NM, to the south side of Albuquerque on just a hair over 1/4 of a tank of gas!!!!! :D:ugh::willy_nilly: I really did not want to find that out, but I had to, you see we could not get the gas door open to put gas in her when we stoped in Truth or Consequences and yes, we tried the remote release in the trunk as well! The last time I put gas in "BLUE BUNNY" was somewhere around El Paso. For the tow truck driver this was the first XLR he had towed. Oh yes, when I called OnStar the first time they told me that the roadside assitance was closed for the holiday!:mad::mad: But, I did take lots of pictures with my cell phone, since my camera ran out of memory, not just once, but twice, while we were in the drive though animal park in Texas and I can't post any pictures until Wednesday afternoon, at the earliest! What a bummer, but all are safe and sound.

Home Safe

Arrived home at two P.M., fueled up close to the house, got everything unloaded and backed the little bugger into the garage as the rain had stopped. I last saw Rod and Cindy in Amarillo last night. I stopped, had dinner and went to bed and they kept on going. Talked to Rod this morning, they spent the night in Limon, CO last night. Came home with a bad cold but at least not the swine flu. Had a great time, so good to see everyone and meet the new folks. I am dissapointed that the attendance for the meetings Henry hosted was so poor. I felt those meetings should have come first and foremost, not attending, considering this was RIV and Henry spent a considerable amount of HIS MONEY to put those events on for all of you was just plain RUDE! Just think, he had caps and lanyards printed and embroidered, he paid for the meeting rooms, food and drinks and you couldn't even show up. I am certain he will never stick his neck out for anything again and I can not blame him for that. The trips could have been planned better so you could have attended. I had enough drivng getting to RIV and certainly had a lot of fun just staying in San Antonio without running around more. I think that might be more then my two cents worth but I felt this needed to be said. First Robin

Cubby and Little Woman Supa Freak made it home. Had a great time. It was great seeing everyone. Will post more later need to get some work done. :ugh::willy_nilly:
