I used to go downtown all the time years ago. Supa & I were married in Vegas 13 years ago and stayed at The Nugget (used to be a Steve Wynn property back then) and it is awesome!! Love their casino--nice and small. The Horseshoe across the street has some of the best odds in Vegas--Craps talbes with 100X odds and the steakhouse at the top floor is second to none!!! The light show on Fremont Street is spectacular as well.

The "old" Vegas strip (Fremont Street) has some realllly cheap rooms. I've always enjoyed playing blackjack at the Golden Gate - their Saturday night rate is $39!!!! Almost everything (on the old strip) is pretty cheap (Plaza, Vegas Club, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget, Fitzgerald's, etc).

Do you guys remember the Howdy Partner that was downtown? They used to have contests where they would double all of the jackpots hit during like a 10 minute period .... it was chaos .... and so much fun! I really miss the noise that the machines used to make and the sound of the coins hitting the trays! And remember the red spinning light on top of each machine that would go off for every little jackpot .... aaahhhhh, those were the good ol' days ... there's no noise down when the vouchers clear the shute....

You can join the MGM players club and they will track your slot play and give you points either towards gifts or discounts off your stay!!

Marc and I have no comp, we don't gamble, just slots! So you all pick the Hotels and we will follow. I just loved the rooms at the Venetian was all so we will leave it to the Comp people to pick and let us know.
Will look for flights and more than likely leave on the 3rd. Let ya's know when I get info. Can't wait!!!!

We will be staying at the Paris. I must have had a bad hotel rep this A.M. because she told me they were booked Saturday. When I called after seeing RA got a room, I also got a room. I also asked about the construction and they told me there was none, so that info was incorrect,sorry. Looks like i am batting zero today.

I called the marketing division at the MC. They were not interested in a $ room reduction unless you have a player's card.

Missy Bling .... The Venetion is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of my budget ... they wanted almost a thousand $$$ for the 3 nights ... YOU GUYS book it and we'll come visit .... lol!

FYI - Paris will give you a "Senior Citizen" discount if you're over 50 (usually 10%). Most of the casinos do. It might give you a couple of extra $$ for gambling!

Well of course Marc is wanting to find a Marriott, so I am putting it on him. Not sure where a Marriott is along the strip area. But he also said he was not going to stay at the Venetian either, costly and we are doing lots of traveling this year. Packing up right now for St. Thomas for 9 days leaving Monday. But we will look into flights and Hotels today or tomorrow. And Suggestions??
