Welcome to the Cadillac XLR Forums!

Do you see XLRs??

Sandy....another giveaway is the rear quarter panel side marker lights. I love the rear fascia and exhaust tips of the 09', this is one of the things I would like to switch out on my 06'. I would like to switch out the front fascia and hood to the XLR V and add the 09' rear bumper and exhaust tips.

??????........... what rear quarter side marker lights? I own an '09 and do not know what you are referring to!

So have you ever investigated the costs of those changes: I would be curious as to how much that would cost... plus of coruse the painting etc.

From what I understand Cadillac only did three colors of red; Crimson Red in `04 & `05, Infrared in `06 & `07, and Crystal Red Metalic in `08 & `09.

Just for the record, the color for 2004 and 2005 is referred to as Crimson Pearl.

I stand corrected, my old eyes were playing tricks on me....lol. After enlarging your picture our tails lights are the same, from the angle of your original it appeared (at least to me :screwy: ) that there was a separate rear marker light. After a little research for parts and labor it will be a little over $4K.

Thanx Sandy,
For the tutorial but, why does the `08 Crystal Red Metalic look different than the `09. From what I understand Cadillac only did three colors of red; Crimson Red in `04 & `05, Infrared in `06 & `07, and Crystal Red Metalic in `08 & `09. The colors in your photo do not look the same.

Probably due to the lighting in the photos, plus the quality of the photo: resolution of the setting, colour of the light due to the time of day, overcast etc. Plus my car just had a total polishing process done by my son and the nose of the car is in the shadow of the house.

Re: Do you See XLRs??

Go Figure, I've had my XLR since May and only seen one other. :wave:Then this week I see two of them.:worship:
The first one I had to follow/chase five miles down the freeway to the casino. He had a RED `05, we had a pretty good chat and I told him about this site. He was in a rush to get to the poker tables and I neglected to gather his info. (hopefully he'll join the group)
I saw the second one today on my way to PetCo. I pulled up next to him at the light and said in a loud voice "nice car" He said you too. His was a RED `06 XLR. We pulled into the strip mall where he was meeting his dad for lunch. This time we did swap info, talking a mile a minute comparing cars and talking about this web. He asked about a club I said this is the closet thing I am aware of. I told him about the Montana Spring Drive 2013 and sent him the link to it.
Boy you just can't beat driving around top down in SUNNY So Cal.:):)

I agree....SoCal is a perfect place for the XLR! Has there ever been a regional XLR meeting in our area? If not, we should organize one

Kind of a funny thing but our small area of Pa here where we live has 4-5 XLR's yesterday morning on the way to work there is school teacher that teaches from her home and she has a Crimson Pearl Red had park outside in her driveway never talked but wave as we passed by a few times she does not drive her's to often like me I drive Roxy daily when weather is suitable! We have silver like mine red, blue, and even and odd tan color one in this area! Don't see many of that color and don't see that particular one out around here to often!

There hasn't been a regional meeting that I know of. Several of us did get together on a couple of ocassions in the LA area and go the weekly cruise night at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. Just informal gatherings of XLR owners.

Patrick, my wife and I are out in Palm Desert for a few more days, and I've been keeping an eye out for your car. Look for our '11 red SRX. :) Weather's been super here, but we have to head back to CO for the holidays. Maybe I'll bring my XLR out when we come back after the first of the year. We're sort of itinerant "Snow Birds". :chuckle

Merry Christmas, y'all!!!

Earlier (abt a hour ago) I saw a xlr in what I thought was a red one. I was riding with mom in her srx. Plus it was dark out so I couldn't tell the exact color. But I thought it looked like a xlr v. Not sure. I wanted to roll the window down and tell them about the site. But they exited and we went straight on the highway.

Now this keeps bothering me. Our mantainence man told me that mine was either the one that a person had in world golf village, or there is another one that is near my condo. He gave me a name of who he thinks has one. So I looked up the name in our directory and found his address. If it is the same person as he told me, then I will drive by in his area and see if I see his ride. If I did take his ride then I will say thanks. If he has another xlr then I will ask or leave a note with this site on it.

Daily Chat

Today I saw a tan or gold color xlr at my friends moms shop parking lot. I had one of my travel cards and wrote down the xlr website. Wonder if he knows about this site.

Not to long after we got Roxy we saw a Tan one for sale. We stop and looked at it but did not like the color it was here in Hanover Pa at a local car lot it sold pretty quick and it is here in the area seen it out and about a just a very few times. The color not to popular and don't recall seeing any here on the forum :dunno:

Bonita Springs FL

Met a fella today by the name of Jim who was showing his '08 Electra Blue at a car show in Bonita Springs, Florida. This beast has LAMBO doors and a huge sound system & was spotless. He only recently purchased it from a local Audio business who had it in their showroom. (they were also showing an Aston Martin DBS convertible: the DB's are the only other car that truly excites me)

Anyway, I told him about this group, gave him my card with this web address, told him about Montana this summer etc. He sounded interested but question if he would really drive that far???? has put on less than 100 miles in the 2 months he has owned it: most of us did that in the first day or two of ownership! :burnout::burnout::burnout::burnout::burnout:

Must be a good omen for something - I saw two today. A black one turned in front of me so I ended up behind it, at an intersection I've seen it at before but usually going the other way. Then I saw a Passion Red one at lunch. Unfortunately I had to get to work both times so I couldn't catch up & chit-chat. Still neat!

Pueblo West Spotting

I just talked w/ my wife on the phone, and she was standing by a light gold colored '06 XLR, with TX plates, in the Pueblo West Safeway parking lot. It had a "Fly Ultralite" license plate frame. I asked her to leave a note about this site on it, but she was getting wind chill, and I don't know if she got the note done or not. :dunno:

I'm not sure, but I'll bet it was the same one I saw a while back, and reported to y'all.
