Have fun and drive safe, Rich!! We'll see you next Sunday. Make sure you take good weather with you, so it's there when we get in.

Newspaper cancelled, mail on hold, all destinations are in the NAV system. All systems are GO for my Tuesday departure.

Next Sunday, High 76, Low 49, 20% chance of rain. Just got that from one of the local tv channels. Thought you would all like to know. :):):) Think SunShine, NO RAIN!!!!

I took the 2009 XLR to the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs annual car show at the Albuqueruque Museum in Old Town. This is one on the major car shows here each spring.

There is no judging, but particpants vote on their favorite vehicle in each of 26 classes.

There were about 400 vehicles entered in the event and I won a First Place in stock automobiles from 1980 to the present. I was the only XLR, but there were many Corvettes there.

Congrats! Goes to show ya - the XLR's are eye-catchers, thats for sure.

AWESOME pics!!!

Greetings to all from De Forest, WI. I drove an enjoyable 8 hours today (after working 8 hours) and ended up here. Don't tell my weekend wife! I think she and her husband live pretty close to here!

I have 812 miles to drive tomorrow to the Badlands. I hope to arrive before sunset for some good photo ops. I'd post pictures, but my camera thinks its smarter than I am (it is, sooooooo..).

I really do enjoy driving. The sights and the smells add to the visuals. I think the skunks in Ohio and Indiana are still hibernating, but the ones in Illinois and Wisconsin are alive and well (except for the dead ones on the highway - peeee-YOU!). I'm sure I passed a French Fry factory just north of Chicago, because the air smelled like McDonalds french fries for about a mile. The industries in Gary, Indiana didn't smell so good. But it was nice to smell the campfires after it got dark and to see the waning moon and stars (or is the moon waxing?).

'Night all!

That's a nasty little virus that's going around - it has kicked this families butt since Mother's Day .... now there's a new one going around that's holding its victims hostage in the bathrooms...... :squint:

Just great hope I don't get that.

Oh no! I just saw your FaceBook post! It IS Misty! OMG I hope they have a good tech for you .... glad it's not a Friday! I've got my fingers crossed .... keep us posted!

In spite of my requests, i couldn't get them to order any parts (BCM PLEASE!!!!!!!!). They kept screwing around with the battery and chargers (since their Tech II's couldn't communicate with anything). I think I'll be here for at least 2 days until parts come in. No worries - there's a Casino and bar within stumbling distance, though I will certainly miss my driving trips I had planned.

If nothing else, the local news is entertaining, with the young black female liberal cohosting with the older white conservative male! It makes for funny (albeit disturbing) stuff! I don't feel very welcome here.....

Rich,

Let us know if we need to send 'Corndog' on the northern route to pick you up.

Hope they get you back on the road soon. Never like seeing pics of XLR's like the one you posted--they should be going down the road, top down!!

I just got a call from the dealer - for the record, the folks at Sioux Falls Cadillac have been very helpful, as well as the folks at Holiday Inn.

The mechanic noticed that, if he "jiggled" the BCM, everything came back on. Further inspection revealed a crack somewhere on the housing. They have ordered a replacement; it should be in tomorrow AM.

Now to replan my route.....
