Default Tricking the Top Temp alarm

I've read the other posts concerning the top temp. My Top pump was flooded as well and now the top won't go down. I only have 33k miles on the car and the water never reached the top of the motor housing, but it seems that the thermistor got damaged. It always reads 85k ohms witch equates to 120 degrees. (The pump never actually gets hot)
My question is, has anyone tried to trick the car into thinking the resistance (or voltage drop across the thermistor) is acceptable for the top to work?
    Thanks, Ron

BTW I'm thinking the pump works because I can sometimes open the trunk.
